Gourmet Glasset - Ellekjærs Biavl

Intro

Glenn Ellekjær is a beekeeper with a passion for great honey, his bees are on the southern most island of Denmark Falster, where they in collaboration create some of the best honey, it’s loved by locals as well as people from abroad

The Process

Glenn wanted to revise an earlier version of his 1kg honey glass label then called “Master Glass” which had become outdated and as such he reached out to me. Together we talked about the vision of the new glass, he also had new brand assets that needed to be incorporated to create a cohesive experience for his local customers. The first step was to do research and identify the new direction of the label. I found inspiration in old labels that conveyed the craftsmanship and care put into the honey, and the bees. It was also necessary to change the name as the “Master Glass” no longer served the purpose we wanted it to.

The Thoughts behind

We wanted to rename the glass to better convey the usage of it, because there is 1kg in the glass we intended people who bought it to use it in their cooking, an as such renamed it to "Gourmet Glasset” which means “The Gourmet Glass” it is also a way to convey the honey is inside is gourmet, so high quality honey. We introduced the checkered pattern which originated from the table cloths Glenn uses when he is at market with his honey. The result is a modern yet nostalgic label that is ready to engage new as well as old customers.
